The Balms Foundation for Children is a non-profit organization. Our priority objective is to develop activities that promote the protection of children's rights, under the terms set forth in the International Convention on Child Protection, signed by the United Nations in The Hague in 1993, and especially the Right of all boys and girls to: 'Grow up in a family that provides them affection, security and basic care' (Convention on the Rights of the Child, UN, November 20, 1989).

It is also a priority to carry out activities related to the principles and objectives of International Development Cooperation, according to the condition specified in Law 23/1998, of July 7, on International Development Cooperation.

To this end, the following activities are carried out:

• International Cooperation with Colombia, Peru and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Countries in which we develop different projects in relation to the most marginalized children and those in a situation of special risk. For which it has a team made up of an economist as a project technician and a law graduate who manages the accounting. This team is joined by various volunteers who help us in the different events that may take place throughout the year.

• Education and awareness-raising on issues related to the protection of children and the defense of their rights, through the publication of a magazine and the organization of events to disseminate our objectives and activities.
